Getting Help From Bullies

What can you do if you are being bullied?

Coping with bullying can be difficult, but remember, you are not the problem, the bully is. You have a right to feel safe and secure.
And if you're different in some way, be proud of it!  Spend time with your friends - bullies hardly ever pick on people if they're with others in a group. Talk to your peers, parents, teachers, principal or someone else that you feel comfortable speaking with. Do not ignore the problem as it will continue to make you feel bad about yourself. If the bullying is persistent and you have not been able to find a solution, call your local police and file a report. If it continues, your school should deal with it but if not, or it is outside of school, get a court order if required. Do not stand still and do not let it continue. If you see someone else being bullied, step in. If you and others step in and stand with this person being victimized, they bully will probably back off. If you are feeling depressed and are considering harming yourself, call your local crisis center.
