MP hopefuls line up

At least three people say they're interested in filling Surrey North MP Chuck Cadman's sizeable shoes.

The respected Independent MP died of skin cancer a month ago and no byelection has been called yet.

Teacher David Matta has already won the Conservative nomination by acclamation.

Meanwhile, fire and flood restorer James Miller and retired restaurant-owner Nina Rivet say they're also interested in running.

Rivet, whose sister Irene Thorpe was killed by street racers five years ago, worked with Cadman on victim legislation and says she'd run as an Independent like Cadman. (The Province)
