The director and spokesperson for End Youth
Violence (www.youthandviolence.com)
had his car broken into sometime between 6 - 11:00pm on Monday night at the
Scott Road Park and Ride. After the vent window was smashed to gain access
to the vehicle, they went through the car and stole some CD's from the glove
box, went through some papers and then popped the trunk release button. From
there they removed a computer which was to be used to assist with End Youth
Violence activities, some binders including some of the recent nightclub
surveys and results, personal and business papers, and a leather portfolio
which had various paper work and several pieces of James Miller's
Identification. In a search of the surrounding area, most items were
recovered wet and thrown all over. The computer broken and wet, papers all
over the place and Identification nowhere in sight. This is a set back for
End Youth Violence which is based in Delta, BC and a victim of it's own
success. Financially struggling already, this is a blow to our continued
operations. our web site and other programs help over 1.3 million people on
average per month from over 74 countries. We help victims of violence,
suicide prevention and have helped in areas of blocking the release of a
video game based on the Columbine High School massacre and prevented a
student in Texas from using a loaded handgun and hit list through an online
tip to our website. As the majority of funding for the organization comes
from James Miller, this computer can not be replaced. Anyone with any
information is asked to please call James Miller at (604)592-6830 or email james@youthandviolence.com
24 hours. These items will not be covered through insurance as the vehicle
is a demo car through James Miller's full time position as a product advisor
for Jim Pattison Hyundai in Surrey. "most importantly to me was the
recovery of the leather portfolio as it was a gift from my oldest son and
his girlfriend and it was the only thing that had sentimental meaning to me.
It was wet from the rain but I did get it back".
